The Chepauk surface is known to assist spinners, especially in the middle overs, but with this being a day game, there라이브 바카라 unlikely to be any dew advantage later in the innings. Batting conditions should remain consistent, though the heat could be a telling factor in terms of fitness and stamina.
History shows that teams batting first have had the edge at this venue — with 51 wins compared to 37 for teams chasing in IPL history at Chepauk. Given the afternoon timing and nature of the pitch, the toss-winning captain is expected to opt for batting first to put pressure on the chasing side with scoreboard pressure in tough weather conditions.
Delhi Capitals have won the toss and have opted to bat first against Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi Capitals (Playing XI): Jake Fraser-McGurk, KL Rahul(w), Abishek Porel, Tristan Stubbs, Sameer Rizvi, Axar Patel(c), Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma
Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad(c), Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni(w), Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Mukesh Choudhary, Khaleel Ahmed, Matheesha Pathirana
Chennai Super Kings Impact Subs: Shivam Dube, Jamie Overton, Shaik Rasheed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Nathan Ellis
Delhi Capitals Impact Subs: Mukesh Kumar, Karun Nair, Darshan Nalkande, Donovan Ferreira, Tripurana Vijay.
KL Rahul is ready to open for Delhi Capitals. Fraser-McGurk joins him at the top. It라이브 바카라 Khaleel Ahmed with the new ball for Chennai Super Kings. First delivery – short of a length and angled across the right-hander. Fraser-McGurk shapes up, thinks about it, then decides to leave. No run.
Khaleel steamed in, eyes locked on Fraser-McGurk, who had been itching to break free after a scratchy start. The ball pitched just back of a length, skidded on, and rushed the batter into a mistimed pull.
Straight up into the night sky it went, hang time for days, and Ashwin, calm as you like under the swirling lights, settled under it at midwicket. No fumbles, no drama. Safe hands.
Chennai Super Kings had their breakthrough, and the yellow wave erupted around the stadium. Fraser-McGurk walked back, five dot balls and a big fat zero to his name. Khaleel roared, CSK had drawn first blood.

Abishek Porel walks in, a calm presence at the crease as Delhi look to steady early. Khaleel charges in, sending down one at 134.2 kph with a hint of shape back in. Porel, unfazed, lets the ball come to him, eyes steady, timing crisp. He tucks it gently off the hips, placing it into the gap at deep square leg. Just a single, but it gets him going, and gets Delhi off the mark.
Abishek Porel라이브 바카라 settling in quickly, first a crisp four, then a clean swing over the ropes, and now he라이브 바카라 really starting to purr. Mukesh tries to get greedy, searching for that late swing, but all he serves up is a half-volley begging to be punished. Porel doesn’t miss, leans into the drive and drills it straight down the ground, past a diving KL Rahul.
Four more, effortless. The Delhi camp is on its feet, the Roarrr Machaa chant echoing louder, they’re up and running, and Porel라이브 바카라 the one setting the tempo.
Abishek Porel is making a statement early, and CSK라이브 바카라 powerplay problems are flaring up again. Khaleel gave them a dream start, but it라이브 바카라 quickly unraveling at the other end. Mukesh, brought in to fix what Overton messed up last game, seems to have missed the memo.
He bangs one in short, predictable and poorly directed, and Porel says thank you very much. A cheeky ramp over the slips, racing away for four more. It라이브 바카라 clever, it라이브 바카라 calm, it라이브 바카라 clinical. Meanwhile, KL Rahul is still stuck on zero at the other end, just watching the fireworks.
KL Rahul finally gets going, and does it in style. He steps into a full delivery, meets it with a clean bat face, and drives it straight through the line. No fancy angles, just brute timing.
Clears mid-on comfortably, bounces once before thudding into the rope. Four runs, and with that, Rahul brings up his first scoring shot. A measured start, but the intent라이브 바카라 beginning to show.
Ashwin comes on and Abishek Porel greets him with no hesitation. First ball is a flatter one just outside off and Porel is already deep in the crease, waiting. He opens the bat face late and carves it with precision, threading the gap between short third and backward point. No chance for either fielder. Four straightaway, a confident start to the over.
A couple of balls later, there is evidence of turn as one grips and spins away, landing around off stump. Porel stays composed and knocks it calmly to the on-side for a single. Smart batting, aggression backed by control.
Jadeja gets the breakthrough and Abishek Porel walks back after a mistimed shot. It was a quick delivery just outside off, skidding off the pitch like only Jadeja can manage. Porel tried to guide it with soft hands, using the pace and opening the bat face to run it fine.
But he misjudged the bounce, and the ball popped up gently to short third. A simple catch and a soft end to an aggressive start. Just what Chennai needed to pull things back.
Axar Patel walks in after the fall of Porel and wastes no time making his presence felt. Facing the final ball of Ashwin라이브 바카라 over, he spots a flighted delivery outside off.
No hesitation, no fuss, Axar leans into it and drives with intent, threading it through cover with a clean swing. The ball races away to the fence. A solid statement first up, spoiling Ashwin라이브 바카라 rhythm and giving Delhi a timely boundary.
KL Rahul looks to break free and goes for the slog sweep, but it is a calculated gamble on a tricky ball. It was tossed up at 96 kilometres per hour, landing on a good length and targeting middle stump.
Not quite the ideal delivery for the big shot, but Rahul commits anyway. He gets it off the middle, but not with enough elevation. The ball lands safely in front of the fielder at deep midwicket, and they pick up a single. A risky option, but Rahul survives, just about.
Axar Patel departs trying to force the issue, but Noor Ahmad has the last word. It was a clever piece of bowling, floated up on a fullish length, landing around middle and off, with just enough dip and drift to deceive the batter.
Axar cleared his front leg, looking to launch it across the line just like Rahul had done earlier in the over. But Noor pulled the pace back, and the ball hinted at turning in ever so slightly. Axar swung hard but made no contact, and the ball crashed into the stumps.
A classic spinner라이브 바카라 dismissal, and Noor wears the look of a man who knew he had that coming. Big moment, just as Delhi were looking to rebuild.
Sameer Rizvi is off the mark with a mistimed cut. Facing a full delivery wide outside off, he throws his hands at it but does not quite find the middle. The ball squirts off the bat and trickles to point for a single.
A couple of deliveries later, Pathirana strays again, short of length and wide outside off stump. Sameer stays on top of the bounce and cuts it firmly into the gap at deep cover. Not timed perfectly, but good enough to come back for two. Steady start, even if the timing is still warming up.
KL Rahul steps out with intent and takes Jadeja on. Sees the ball tossed up and meets it right at the pitch, swinging cleanly through the line. Sends it soaring over long-on with ease, clearing the boundary with room to spare. A confident strike, Rahul making sure Jadeja knows he라이브 바카라 not going to sit back.
KL Rahul digs out a very full delivery and clips it neatly to long-on for a single, but it라이브 바카라 more than just a run. With that, he brings up his 38th IPL fifty, back at the top where he belongs.
No wild celebrations, just a quiet nod and a gentle raise of the bat to acknowledge the crowd. It라이브 바카라 been a calm, composed knock, holding Delhi라이브 바카라 innings together while the others played around him. A proper anchor job, setting them up for a big finish.
Sameer Rizvi launches one straight into familiar territory, the CSK dugout, where he was seated just a year ago. Noor Ahmad tosses up a googly, but Rizvi reads it early and goes hard. He clears his front leg, connects sweetly, and sends it sailing over long-on.
It라이브 바카라 not just a big hit, it라이브 바카라 poetic. The ball lands right among the yellow shirts, forcing his old mates to scramble out of the way. A bold statement from Rizvi, and a six packed with sentiment.
Tristan Stubbs walks in after the fall of Sameer Rizvi and wastes no time making an impact. He gets a short ball on the pads, and he라이브 바카라 all over it. Picks it up early, rolls his wrists, and pulls it cleanly behind square. Races away to the fence, a classy start from Stubbs, right in control from ball one.
Mukesh Choudhary runs in, but KL Rahul is already one step ahead. He knows the field, no one stationed at deep backward square or deep square leg, and he knows Mukesh is likely to bowl wide outside off.
Rahul shuffles across his stumps, gets into position early, and unleashes a calculated sweep. It sails over the infield and races into the vacant space behind square. Four runs, smart batting, and complete awareness of the field.
KL Rahul라이브 바카라 fine knock comes to an end, and it라이브 바카라 a sharp piece of bowling from Matheesha Pathirana that does the job. He bangs in a well-directed short ball, and Rahul takes it on with the pull. But the pace and bounce surprise him just enough, the ball brushes the glove on its way through. Rahul knows it straight away.
No glance at the umpire, no hesitation. He turns and walks, caught behind by Dhoni, who takes a simple catch to his right. A well-made 77 off 51 balls from Rahul, filled with precision and timing, but Pathirana wins this round with a proper effort ball.
Delhi finish on 183 for 6, but they’ll know they missed a shot at 200. The pitch slowed down, CSK라이브 바카라 pacers mixed it up well, and the last five overs brought just 45 runs. KL Rahul led the way with a solid 77, but the rest couldn’t quite kick on.
Pathirana was brilliant at the death, especially in the 18th and 20th overs, tightening things just when it mattered. CSK have a chase on their hands, but the surface might not make it easy. Ekanth will take you through it, don’t go anywhere.
Chase time in Chepauk, and history isn’t exactly on Chennai라이브 바카라 side. They’re up against 184, a total they haven’t successfully chased above 175 since IPL 2021. Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway stride out to the middle, with Mitchell Starc ready to steam in.
Worth noting, only twice has a score above 180 been chased in a day game at this venue, once by Chennai themselves in 2012, and the other by Punjab in 2023. The pitch is slowing, the pressure is on, and this chase could go either way. Buckle up.
Mitchell Starc strays down leg and pays the price. It라이브 바카라 full and angling in, but too much on the pads. Devon Conway goes for the flick but doesn’t make contact with the bat, it brushes the pads and races away fine past the keeper Ishan Porel. No bat involved, but it still runs away for four leg byes. Loose start from Starc, and CSK won’t mind the early bonus.
Early blow for CSK as Rachin Ravindra falls cheaply. Mukesh Kumar bangs one in on a hard length, and Ravindra looks to punch it back down the track. But he라이브 바카라 a touch early into the shot, the ball holds up just enough, and he ends up chipping it straight back to the bowler.
Mukesh reacts quickly, grabs it with both hands, and Ravindra walks back for just 3 off 6. A sharp return catch and an important breakthrough for Delhi right at the start.
Ruturaj Gaikwad walks in with the weight of the chase on his shoulders. First ball, he gets off the mark with a nudge to mid-wicket, just a single, but a start. CSK need stability now, and Gaikwad라이브 바카라 the man they’ll hope can anchor this innings and pull them out of early trouble.
Mitchell Starc strikes and CSK are in deeper trouble now. Ruturaj Gaikwad looked to take on the short ball, but mistimed his pull straight to Jake Fraser-McGurk at deep backward square leg, who took it comfortably and pointed to the dugout, maybe it was all part of the plan.
Gaikwad walks back for just 5 off 4 balls, and Starc has landed a massive blow early in the chase.
Just a ball earlier, Gaikwad had played a beautiful cover drive, full and just outside off, but it went straight to the fielder. Timing was there, placement wasn't. Now he라이브 바카라 gone, and CSK are wobbling.
Devon Conway greets Mohit Sharma with a boundary straight away. It라이브 바카라 short of length on middle, and Conway is quick to pick it up. He swivels into the pull and threads it perfectly through deep backward square leg. With short fine-leg inside the ring, there was no protection in the deep, four runs with ease. Clean, controlled, and clinical from Conway.
Shivam Dube walks in with CSK already wobbling. And things just got worse, Devon Conway departs playing an ugly shot. Vipraj Nigam tosses it up on leg-stump, a googly that doesn’t turn. Conway goes across the line aiming to go leg-side, but it catches the leading edge and balloons high. Axar Patel settles under it at extra cover and takes it calmly.
Conway gone for 13 off 14, and it라이브 바카라 three wickets down for CSK inside the powerplay. Vipraj Nigam delivers a crucial strike, and Chennai라이브 바카라 chase is now on shaky ground.

Vijay Shankar misses out on a scoring opportunity here. It was a good length delivery, offering a bit of width outside off. Shankar rocks back and looks to cut, but can't beat the fielder at backward point. Straight to him, no run.
That was there to be put away, but the timing or placement just wasn’t right.
Shivam Dube falls, and Delhi tighten their grip. Vipraj Nigam strikes back immediately after being hit, tosses it up wide outside off, a tempting leg-break that spins in. Dube goes for the lofted drive, eyes lighting up at the sight, but he fails to middle it. The ball goes high, not far, and it라이브 바카라 a tricky one at long-on. But Tristan Stubbs is calm under pressure and takes a sharp catch with ease.
Dube walks back for 18 off 15, another promising start that goes nowhere. CSK are sinking deeper, and Vipraj Nigam is at the heart of the damage.
That's out! LBW! Ravindra Jadeja is given leg before and walks off without much fuss. A big moment in the game, but it라이브 바카라 what comes next that sends the crowd into a frenzy.
MS Dhoni is walking in! Yes, you read that right, Dhoni at No. 7 with more than nine overs still to go. The stadium erupts, fans on their feet, chanting his name. No one expected him this early, but here he is, and Chepauk has come alive.
Vijay Shankar gets a bonus here, it라이브 바카라 a no-ball from Mohit Sharma. Clocking in at 130kph, Mohit looks to nail the wide yorker but misses his mark. Shankar drills it hard to the left of long-off for a single, but more importantly, Mohit has overstepped. That means a free-hit is coming up… and it라이브 바카라 MS Dhoni on strike. The crowd senses something.
Vijay Shankar carves out a boundary with smart footwork and sharp hands. Kuldeep Yadav slows it down again at 82.5kph, but Shankar is ready, backs away to make room and slices it over extra cover with precision. Great use of the crease, and a superb shot to cap it off.
Axar Patel is into the attack now with his left-arm orthodox spin.
First up to MS Dhoni, a gentle start. At 89.4kph, it라이브 바카라 a length ball on middle stump. Dhoni leans in and works it calmly to backward square leg for a single.
Next up, it라이브 바카라 Vijay Shankar on strike. Axar ups the pace to 94.3kph and darts it in on leg stump. Shankar flicks it away to deep square leg for another easy run. Quiet start to the over.
Mitchell Starc gifts CSK five extra runs, and the Chepauk crowd erupts, not for a shot, but for a wild delivery. Coming around the wicket to MS Dhoni, Starc fires a full ball way down the leg side at 136.4kph.
It swings further away after pitching, giving KL Rahul behind the stumps absolutely no chance to get a glove on it. The ball races away to the boundary, called five wides. A costly error, and the noise in the stadium hits a new level, Dhoni라이브 바카라 at the crease, and the pressure라이브 바카라 now firmly on Starc.
Vijay Shankar gets hold of one and sends it sailing! Clocking in at 138.6kph, it라이브 바카라 full and begging to be hit, right in the slot. Shankar takes a small shuffle across the crease, sets himself, and launches it straight back over the bowler라이브 바카라 head. Clean connection, straight off the sweet spot, and it sails well beyond the boundary. That's a cracking six.
DC finally break the Chepauk curse, and it took them 15 long years. The last time Delhi beat Chennai in their own den, it was IPL 2010. CSK hadn't yet won a title, Dhoni was still building his legacy, and hope in him to do the unthinkable ran deep across the country.
But tonight, that aura felt distant. The target of 184 was imposing, yes, but the chase never really felt alive. Chennai looked off-colour, unsure, and nowhere near their dominant best. Dhoni walked out to loud cheers, as always, but even he couldn’t mask the feeling: this is not the CSK of old.
"It's just how it's been! I am quite used to it. I was personally prepping to play at the top of the order before the IPL started. I had a chat with the coach, and he said he wanted me to bat at No. 4 because we had a player who didn't turn up. I was happy that I got the opportunity today at the top of the order. It's more mental, and the pattern and process of getting in. Just getting used to walking in at a particular stage. I like to get used to doing the same thing."
"Since I've been going up and down the order, it takes me a few minutes to get used to it. That's something I've been working on - to not take those two or three balls. I started off really well, but through the middle, it was a bit scratchy. Those quick 20-25 runs [from Porel] set up the game. It really sets you up. I had a couple of partnerships like that with Axar and Abishek Porel. I hit a few boundaries early on in the powerplay, and kept losing wickets at the wrong time when I wanted to go. Towards the end, the weather and the heat got to me; I got cooked."
That's a wrap for this match! But don't forget to follow our live blog for Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals HERE. Good night.
