The Capitals defeated the Indians in the opening match of both the teams this season but MI have not lost a game since then. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side now has won three games on the trot to climb on the top of the table. Meg Lanning's Capitals are just below them with three wins in five games but are still searching for back-to-back wins. We are underway in Bengaluru. Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia in the middle for MI. Marizanne Kapp opening the bowling for DC.
10 runs from the opening over and seven from the second. A decent start for both the sides. Hayley Matthews was given out off Shikha Thakur in the second over but the appeal was overturned.
A solid start so far for MI. Bhatia on 11 off seven while Matthews is on 18 off 17. The fourth over of the game, by Jess Jonassen, went for 11 runs and MI would look to build further on it to up the ante and finish the powerplay on a high.
An excellent end to the powerplay for DC. Just four runs off the last two overs and Shikha Thakur has taken the wicket of Yastika Bhatia and also it was a wicket maiden over to end the powerplay. Nat Sciver-Brunt has joined Hayley Matthews now in the middle.
Finally a big over for MI. 10th over of the innings and Titas Sidhu has been smashed for 18 runs, the most so far this night. Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt are in the middle currently after the MI openers departed soon after the powerplay.
Jes Jonassen has dismissed the set pair of Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt and DC are right back on top again. MI are going at a run-a-ball and things not looking nice for them. They really need to find someone who can take them to 150.
Minnu Mani takes two wickets in the 17th over and DC are now in full control of the game. MI will not be able to post a par score here and DC would want to restrict them to as low a score as possible.
123 for nine is what MI post. It was an outstanding bowling performance from DC. Jess Jonassen and Minnu Manni with three wickets each and DC would fancy there chances of winning this game. Amanjot Kaur stays not out on 17 off 10 balls in the only bright spot for MI in this half of the innings.
DC need 124 runs to win!
Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma are out in the middle. A low target in front of them today so it will be interesting how they approach it. Shabnim Ismail with her pace for MI.
Shafali Verma is on a rampage. The out-of-favour India batter smashes Nat Sciver-Brunt for 16 runs in the fourth over of the DC innings to make her intentions apparent. After a sedate start, the opener is batting at 23 off 14 balls and the Capitals are off to a strong start. Mumbai desperately need a wicket soon, if they are to make a match of it.

Meg Lanning joins Shafali Verma's party. The Capitals' skipper has already hit seven fours in her 27-ball stay and is looking good for more. Together, the opening duo is making a mockery of the Mumbai Indians' target.

The result is a formality now. Even though Shafali was dismissed by Amanjot Kaur, DC continue to cruise towards the victory line. Lanning has completed her fifty. Jemimah too has hit a few boundaries in her short stay so far. MI have been outplayed.

An absolute hammering from DC tonight. First their bowlers were on point and then the openers made a mockery of the chase. Total domination from DC and they displace MI on the top of the table with this huge win.
Jess Jonassen is the Player of the Match. She dismissed Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt and G Kamalini in her four over spell where she conceded just 22 runs.
