On paper, it's a lopsided fixture. England, one of the traditional forces in world cricket, continues to be a force in every format of the game. Nigeria, on the contrary, are only cutting their teeth. But just like any other sporting matchup, this one also provides intrigue.
England, who lost to India by seven wickets in the final of the inaugural edition, were unlucky to share the spoilt in no result against Ireland. But Abi Norgrove & Co. showed no mercy to Pakistan and the United States of America, in their six-wicket and seven-wicket wins, respectively -- results which propelled them to the top of Group B.
Nigeria, meanwhile, are one of the surprise packages in this edition. A washout in the opener against fellow debutants Samoa, a fixture they could have won, was followed by the biggest upset in the tournament's history -- beating New Zealand by two wickets. But Lucky Piety lost the plot in the subsequent outing, none of the batters reaching the 10-run mark in the chase.
