GT aim to find the consistency of their first two years and their decision to keep Rahul Tewatia, Sai Sudarshan, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill were expected keeping as they formed the core of the side.

The only unexpected retention, meanwhile, was Shahrukh Khan, who has a strong strike rate but has struggled to maintain consistency in his play.

GT spent a lot of money at the auction to purchase excellent players like Jos Buttler and Kagiso Rabada. In addition, the inclusion of Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna to the squad came at a high financial cost. Karim Janat, Glenn Phillips, and Gerald Coetzee were among the international players who were brought to the team.

GT Full Squad For IPL 2025

Shubman Gill (C), Jos Buttler (WK), B Sai Sudharshan, Shahrukh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Nishant Sindhu, Mahipal Lomror, Kumar Kushagra, Anuj Rawat, Manav Suthar, Washington Sundar, Gerald Coetzee, Mohmmad Arshad Khan, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Sherfane Rutherford, R. Sai Kishore, Ishant Sharma, Jayant Yadav, Glenn Phillips, Kareem Janat, Kulwant Khejroliya.

Strengths

Gujarat Titans (GT) have one of the most dangerous top threes in IPL 2025. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan performed brilliantly last season, where Gill scored over 400 runs and Sudarshan scored 527 runs in 12 matches. The addition of Jos Buttler further strengthens GT's top order. Buttler, who has over 12,000 runs in T20s, can change the course of any match with his aggressive batting.

GT have a great spin attack, led by Rashid Khan, who is one of the most successful spinners in T20 cricket. Rashid has taken 615 wickets in T20s so far, and has an economy of 6.48. His record in the IPL is also excellent, where he has taken 149 wickets in 121 matches. He is accompanied by Washington Sundar, who can bowl economically in the middle overs. Apart from this, RSai Kishore is also an effective spinner, whose T20 economy is 5.92. Glenn Phillips can also bowl if needed.

GT have many options in fast bowling, the biggest name being Kagiso Rabada. The South African pacer has 264 wickets in T20, out of which he has taken 106 wickets in the last 4 overs. Along with him, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna can also prove to be effective with the new ball and in the death overs. Apart from this, Gerald Coetzee, who has taken 86 wickets in 64 T20 matches, provides additional depth to the team. Ishant Sharma is also available with the team as a backup pacer.

Weaknesses

GT's middle order could be their weakest link. Shahrukh Khan's performance has not been consistent. If he fails, GT will have to rely on players like Mahipal Lomror and Anuj Rawat, whose IPL record has not been impressive. Lomror has an IPL average of 18, while Rawat has a strike rate of 119.10 and an average below 20.

GT does not have enough backup for the key batters. If a big batsman. A reserve batsman like Kumar Kushagra has only 254 runs in T20s, making him an uncertain option at the IPL level.

Despite Rabada, GT's death bowling could be weak. Siraj has proven to be expensive in the death overs, and Prasidh Krishna is making a comeback after injury, raising questions about his effectiveness. If Rabada has a bad day, GT could concede more runs in the final overs.

Opportunities

Gill has consistently performed well in the IPL, but being the captain of GT, this is a golden opportunity for him to establish himself as a strong leader. If he takes GT to the playoffs, it could prove to be a turning point in his career. GT have strong Indian spinners in the form of Sai Kishore and Washington Sundar. If Kishore is given more opportunities, he could become a vital player for the team and for the future of Indian cricket.

This season is a great opportunity for Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna to prove themselves. Siraj, who was released by RCB, will look to make a comeback while Krishna will want to regain his form after recovering from injury. If both bowlers get into form, GT's fast bowling attack can become one of the best in the tournament.

Threats

Some of GT's key players have a history of injuries, including Prasidh Krishna. If these players remain unavailable for a long period, GT's team may lose balance. Similarly, workload management of Buttler and Rabada will also be important.

GT's strength rests on their foreign players—Buttler, Rashid, Rabada and Coetzee. If any of these players get injured or are unavailable due to international commitments, GT's team may be weakened.
