Hong Kong defeated Qatar by 68 runs in match 4 of the Hong Kong T20I Quadrangular Series 2025 held at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok on Wednesday, 10 April 2025. (More Cricket News)

Asked to bat first, Hong Kong started well with openers Zeeshan Ali and Anshuman Rath. The duo added 80 runs for the first wicket. Babar Hayat played a quick knock of 42 runs off just 23 balls.

Captain Yasim Murtaza (10), Kalhan Challu (12) and Ehsan Khan (13 not out) played crucial cameos to help their team post a respectable total of 197/7 in 20 overs.

Mohammed Irshad picked up four wickets for Qatar, whereas Mujeeb ur Rehman took a couple of wickets.

While chasing the target, Qatar lost their opener batter Rifayi Theruvath in the first over. Mohammad Ikramullah Khan showed intent and hit a couple of sixes, but lost his wicket soon.

Shahzaib Jamil was the highest scorer for Qatar with a score of 37 runs. Bukhar Illikkal fought hard with his 25 runs off just 19 balls, but failed to take his team near the target.

Waqas Barkat finished his spell with bowling figures of 4-1-18-4. Ayush Shukla and Ehsan Khan also took a couple of wickets.

Now, Qatar will take on Kuwait in match 5, whereas Hong Kong will clash with Nepal in match 6 at the same venue on Saturday, 12 April.
