Rain was the ultimate winner in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as both India and Australia had to settle for a frustrating draw. There was limited action on the last day of the match with almost the entirety of first and the last session getting whitewashed. India were bowled out for 260 and Australia went hard to declare at 89/7. India began the chase of 275 with caution but rain arrived and never left. The two captains decided on a draw.
