Bumrah has already submitted his scans to the medical staff at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and they will take the final call after discussions with the Indian team management, according to an ESPNcricinfo report. Bumrah is part of the 15-member squad that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced for the Champions Trophy.
The Indian pace spearhead has not played a match since he was unable to bowl in Australia's second innings of the Sydney Test in early January. He reportedly had a stress reaction in his back, which apparently needed five weeks of rest.
The report adds that if India feel Bumrah will not be able to play any part in the Champions Trophy, they could replace him with Harshit Rana, who played the first two one-dayers against England.
Meanwhile, a different report suggests that the BCCI will keep Bumrah in the Champions Trophy squad "even if there is a one percent chance" of his recovery. If Bumrah does not regain fitness in time, the report adds, BCCI might approach the tournament라이브 바카라 technical committee midway to seek a replacement.
A Times of India report quoted a source as saying: “Even if there is a 1% chance, the BCCI is likely to wait. They did the same with Hardik Pandya as they waited for close to two weeks before getting Prasidh Krishna as a replacement. Even when Shubman Gill was down with dengue, they didn’t have any thoughts of looking for a replacement.
"Yes, those two incidents happened during the campaign but the approach with Bumrah could well be no different. This is just the deadline to submit the squad and they could approach the Event Technical Committee at a later stage to seek a replacement if he fails to regain fitness.”
