After a rain-delayed toss, Bhutan opted to bowl first in a shortened 13-over-a-side contest. Kuwait posted a competitive 85/3, thanks to a solid start by opener Priyada Murali, who scored 36 off 29 balls. Zeefa Jilani contributed 16, while Balasubramani Shanti provided a late boost with an unbeaten 16.
In response, Bhutan struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 50/6. Maria Jasvi starred with the ball, picking up two wickets, while Maria Jilani and Amna Tariq chipped in with one each and sealing a 35-run victory.
Kuwait began their campaign with a heavy 8-wicket defeat against hosts Thailand. Meanwhile, Bhutan's opening match against Thailand was abandoned due to rain.
