ICC Test Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah Equals R Ashwin For Joint-Highest Rating Points By Indian Bowler

India's bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has equalled Ravichandran Ashwin's personal high of 904 rating points in the latest ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings. With that, Bumrah has secured the joint-highest rating points ever for an Indian bowler on the ICC rankings chart. (More Cricket News)

Bumrah strengthened his grip over the top spot in the Test bowling rankings after an outstanding performance at the Gabba, gaining 14 rating points with figures of 9/94. South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and Australia's medium pacer Josh Hazlewood trail Bumrah in the second and third spots, respectively.

The numero uno Bumrah has the chance of surpassing the recently retired Ashwin with another top-class display in the upcoming Boxing Day Test. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, with 21 wickets in six innings at a lethal average of 10.90.

Meanwhile, attacking Australia southpaw Travis Head's consistent run has helped him close in on the top three spots in the Test batting rankings. Head has overtaken India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and jumped to fourth on the batters' list, which is topped by England mainstay Joe Root.

Another Aussie batter Steve Smith has climbed into the top 10 of the charts after his century in Brisbane, placed 10th currently. On the other hand, India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has slipped out of the top ten.

In the all-rounders list, Australia captain Pat Cummins has earned his place back in the top 10 after his four wickets with the ball and 42 runs in the third Test against India. Head has also leapfrogged nine places up to 29th, showcasing his prowess with the ball as well at the Gabba.

In one-day internationals, South Africa's star wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen's three back-to-back half-centuries against Pakistan have seen him jump eight spots, from 13th to fifth, on the batting charts. Pakistan opener Saim Ayub, who struck two hundreds against the Proteas, climbed 57 slots to a career-best 23rd position.

Pakistan middle-order batter Babar Azam continues to lead the ODI batting rankings, with India's Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third place, and Virat Kohli in fourth respectively.
