Other LSG batters also could not shine much as the Kings bowling attack kept a strong Super Giants' batting line-up in check throughout the innings

Rishabh Pant came into the Indian Premier League 2025 as the highest paid player in the history of the tournament but his start to this edition of the tournament has been really underwhelming. The wicket-keeper batter's struggles continued on Tuesday as he was dismissed for just two in Lucknow Super Giants' first home game of the season against Punjab Kings. Pant was bought by LSG for a record sum of Rs 27 crore ahead of IPL 2025 and also made the captain of the franchise. He has added just 17 runs in three innings so far this season for his new side.

Against Punjab Kings, Pant fell to an innocuous short ball from Glenn Maxwell as the left-hander tried to beat the short fine leg but instead handed a simple catch to Yuzvendra Chahal who was stationed at that position. The LSG skipper scored just 2 runs off 5 balls.

Before the failure against the Kings, Pant had scored a six-ball Duck in LSG's season opener which was against his former team Delhi Capitals. In the last game against SunRisers Hyderabad, Pant could only get to 15 before getting out to Harshal Patel.

Cricket fans on social media did not spare Pant after his third consecutive failure this season.

Other LSG batters also could not shine much as the Kings bowling attack kept a strong Super Giants' batting line-up in check throughout the innings.

The in-form Nicholas Pooran was the top-scorer for LSG with 44 off 30 balls. Ayush Badoni with his 33-ball 41 and Abdul Samad's 12-ball 27 were the other noticeable innings which took LSG to 171/7 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh was the most succesful bowler for the Kings as he finished with 3/41 in his four overs.
