New Zealand comfortably beat Sri Lanka by 113 runs in a rain-curtailed fixture at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday, January 8. The tourists’ ploy of bowling first did not go as per plan, with Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman scoring their respective fifties. Middle and lower-order runs guided the hosts to 255/9 in the allotted 37 overs. During the chase, it was all one-way traffic, except for the lone Kamindu Mendis, who scored 64. Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 142 in 30.2 overs.
