Host Nigeria are riding high after a historic 264-run victory over Ivory Coast, bowling them out for a record-low T20 total of just 7 runs in 7.3 overs. Led by Isaac Danladi, the team started their campaign with a commanding 118-run win against Saint Helena and followed it up with a 5-wicket victory over Eswatini in their most recent match.
On the other hand, Sierra Leone have also proven to be a strong side. They started their campaign with a dominant 168-run win over Ivory Coast. However, they suffered a setback with a 5-wicket loss to Botswana. The team quickly recovered, securing a 4-wicket victory against Saint Helena in their third match.
Apart from Nigeria and Sierra Leone, the other four more teams in the tournament are - Ivory Coast, Botswana, Saint Helena and Eswatini.
Only the top two teams at the end of the 15 round-robin matches will advance to the regional final. They will join six other teams, including Namibia and Uganda, who received byes after competing in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
