The 21-year-old all-rounder, batting at number eight, hit an unbeaten 105 off 176 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Day 3. With his maiden Test century, he became the third youngest Indian to notch up three-figure scores for India in Australia, after Sachin Tendulkar in 1992 and Rishabh Pant in 2019. India were 358/9 in 116 overs in reply to Australia's 474 all out. Play on Day 3 ended prematurely due to rain.
