The Pakistan tour of New Zealand has officially wrapped up with a clean sweep in the ODI series for the hosts, with the Kiwis securing a 3-0 result despite fielding a second-choice team against the Shaheens. (More Cricket News)

In the third and final ODI at Bay Oval on 5 April, Pakistan failed to chase down a 265-run target in a game that was reduced to 42 overs due to wet outfield conditions. Instead, the away batters – other than Babar Azam (50 off 58) – completely capitulated to a Ben Sears fifer and lost by 43 runs.

The embarrassing result follows a 4-1 loss in the T20I series at the beginning of the tour. In the 20-overs series, Pakistan had one dominant win on either side of crushing defeats, with NZ sealing the fourth match in a 115-run thrashing.

Pakistan Cricket Shows Fight Outside Pitch

Instead of showing any sort of aggression and intent within the 22 yards, Pakistani player Khushdil Shah was seen getting into a violent altercation with fans in the Mount Maunganui stands.

As per reports after the game, two Afghan fans reportedly taunted the all-rounder because of his performance in the series, and Shah reacted in a fiery manner, rushing towards the stands while being restrained by multiple security guards.

Interestingly, the Multan Sultan cricketer was fined 50% of his match fee for “inappropriate physical contact with an opponent” in the first T20I match of the series.

Instead of condemning the reaction from a professional, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement supporting Shah, condemning the “inappropriate behaviour” towards him.

NZ Youngsters Come Through In Pakistan Showing

New Zealand named a second-choice team for the ODI series, with most of their starters currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Stars like Kane Williamson, Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Will Young, and Ish Sodhi were all missing from the squads.

Instead, the hosts called up a large number of inexperienced players, including pacer Ben Sears, who only made his ODI debut in February. The 27-year-old was the hero for the Kiwis, taking back-to-back fivers in the second and third ODI against Pakistan.

Already having a reduced squad, the Kiwis also suffered further setbacks when Mark Chapman, who scored a century in Napier, was withdrawn from Saturday라이브 바카라 game with an injury. Instead, T20I hero Tim Seifert was called in, and he added 26 runs to the match at No. 5.

All-rounder Muhammad Abbas has been a jewel for NZ in the series. The 21-year-old Pakistan-born cricketer took two wickets and scored 104 runs in three matches, and Mitch Santner will look to integrate him into the senior squad once the IPL season ends
