The home team chased down a 187-run target in 30.4 overs, with Muneeba Ali (71 off 72) and Aliya Riaz (68 not out off 70) combining for a 93-run partnership for the third wicket. Riaz, who also pouched two catches, was named the Player of the Match for her enterprising knock.

The weather conditions forced a delay in the toss and the start of play. Initially, the match was scheduled to start at 10:00 AM IST.

Pakistan kicked off their campaign with a 38-run victory over Ireland. The Fatima Sana-led side had bowled out the Irish for 179 runs in 44 overs after putting 217 runs on the board.

Scotland too had a winning start as they defeated West Indies by 11 runs. Kathryn Bryce's team were able to dismiss the Windies for 233 while chasing a 245-run target, despite Hayley Matthews' fabulous all-round performance (114 not out and 4/56).
