RCB Vs CSK, IPL 2025: Yash Dayal, Romario Shepherd Help Royal Challengers Bengaluru Win By Two Runs
Ayush Mhatre's impressive score of 94 and Ravindra Jadeja's unbeaten 77 were not enough to secure a win for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), as they fell short by just two runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their IPL match in Bengaluru on Saturday. Chasing a target of 214 runs, CSK managed to score 211 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Mhatre's innings lasted 48 balls and included five sixes and nine fours, while he and Jadeja forged a strong partnership, adding 114 runs for the second wicket. Jadeja contributed significantly with his 77 not out from 45 balls, which featured eight fours and two sixes. For RCB, Lungi Ngidi excelled with the ball, returning impressive figures of 3 wickets for 30 runs. Earlier in the match, half-centuries from Jacob Bethell (55), Virat Kohli (62), and Romario Shepherd (53 not out) helped RCB to a total of 213 for 5. Bethell and Kohli laid a solid foundation with a 97-run opening partnership, while Shepherd showcased his explosive batting by hitting four fours and six sixes, scoring 53 not out off just 14 balls. This remarkable performance included the fastest fifty of the season.
