South Africa come into this tournament on the back of a series whitewash at home to Pakistan, as well as lost the Pakistan ODI Tri-series to the hosts and New Zealand. They entered the tournament thanks to their fifth placed ranking in the ICC ODI Team Rankings.
The Proteas are placed alongside the likes of Australia, England and Afghanistan. Despite no Anrich Nortje, they have the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Wiaan Mulder to trouble the opposition batters. Spinners Tabraiz Shamsi, and Keshav Maharaj will also play a key role.
Batting looks strong and will look to start off their tournament with a victory when they take on Afghanistan on Feb 21 in Karachi.
