A sensational 127 from Charith Asalanka handed the hosts Sri Lanka a fantastic 49-run win against Australia in the first one-day international at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, February 12. After opting to bat first, the hosts were off to a disastrous start, losing five wickets for just 55 runs, but the skipper steered their side to a challenging 214 on a slow surface. Australia, who lost wickets at regular intervals, were unable to stitch a solid partnership as they were bowled out for just 165 in 33.5 overs.
