Welcome to the live coverage of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 final. Today is the third day of the game between Kerala and Vidarbha.
KER 131/3 in 39 overs - Kerala still trail by 248 runs to Vidarbha's total of 379.
Aditya Sarwate is unbeaten on 66 and is joined at the crease by Kerala skipper Sachin Baby.
Brief scores:
Vidarbha 379 in 123.1 overs (Danish Malewar 153, Karun Nair 86; MD Nidheesh 3/61, Eden Apple Tom 3/101, NM Basil 2/60)
Kerala 131/3 in 39 overs (Aditya Sarwate 66*, Ahammed Imran 37; Darshan Nalkande 2/22) by 248 runs.
The pitch has plenty of spots, with a rough patch forming from the bowler's footmarks. Right now, it looks like a good batting surface, but it will break down as the game progresses. Bowlers will get assistance if they target that rough.
The players take their positions as Day 3 gets underway. Sachin Baby and Aditya Sarwate are at the crease. Full and wide outside off, and Sachin pounces, driven crisply through the covers for four. First runs of the morning!
41st over, and here comes Yash Thakur steaming in. Bangs it in short, Sarwate wants no part of it, ducks under with ease.
Thakur goes short and wide next ball, Sarwate slashes hard, crunchy connection, but just a single to deep point.
Oh, hang on. Drama here! Thakur라이브 바카라 hand clips the bails at the non-striker라이브 바카라 end, and the umpire stretches out the arm, no-ball. A little bonus for the batting side.
Thakur goes full on the pads, and Sarwate neatly tucks it away to the deep for a single. Just three singles from the over, tight stuff. Nachiket charging in from the other end. This one's outside off, Sarwate shoulders arms, but that wasn’t far from off stump! A watchful over, just two runs off it.
Harsh Dubey brought into the attack, and he makes an instant impact! Sharp turn beats Sarwate라이브 바카라 outside edge, brilliant start from the left-arm spinner. Follows up with a fuller delivery, Sarwate leans in and guides it to point for a single.
Bhute continues from the other end. Drops it short on the hips, and Sarwate works it away to the leg side for an easy single.
Thakur digs in a short one, and Sarwate takes it on, goes for the pull but gets a top edge! The ball hangs in the air, heart-in-mouth moment, but it lands safely just beyond the diving wicketkeeper. Wadkar put in a full-length effort and looks to be in a bit of discomfort—getting some treatment now.
A lively last few overs! A couple of edges streak past the cordon, a tough chance goes down, and Sarwate gets a lucky break, his attempted pull glances off the gloves, looping just beyond wicketkeeper Wadkar라이브 바카라 reach. Vidarbha are pressing hard, but Kerala라이브 바카라 batters are hanging in.
It was only a matter of time, and Harsh Dubey delivers! Flight, turn, and just enough bite, catches Sarwate high on the bat, sending a looping chance straight to Malewar at silly point. No mistake, a simple grab, and Vidarbha will feel they’re firmly in control now.
KER 188/4 (61.2)
Akshay Karnewar takes charge, spinning it to the two left-handers. A floated delivery outside off, punched to cover for a single. Next up, Salman pushes a fuller one to mid-on and scampers through for a quick run.
At the other end, Parth Rekhade replaces Harsh. His first ball kicks off the surface, surprising Salman, who lifts his bat and lets it go. A controlled steer to third man earns him a single. Sachin follows suit, guiding a back-of-a-length delivery to third man for another easy run.
Harsh Dubey strikes again, and this one could be a game-changer. Vidarbha wrapped up the session on a high as Dubey trapped Salman Nizar, Kerala라이브 바카라 standout batter this season, right in front.
Nizar will regret shouldering arms to a delivery that spun back from outside off, and the review only confirmed his fate. Add this to the earlier dismissal of Aditya Sarwate, who fought hard after being promoted to No. 3, and Vidarbha라이브 바카라 players will head to lunch with an extra spring in their step. For Kerala, much rests on Sachin Baby, who must turn his captain라이브 바카라 knock into something truly substantial.
Harsh continues his spell, keeping the pressure on. Sachin gets an inside edge that trickles toward short square leg, allowing him to steal a quick single. The field remains tight, with Vidarbha looking to break this stand.
Dubey keeps it a fraction short, Sachin stays back and drives it down to long-on for a single. Just three runs in the over.
Karnewar comes into the attack, taking over from Harsh. A maiden over from him. Rekhade concedes just two runs in his over. Kerala's score crosses 250.
Rekhade bowls to Azhar, a full delivery on the leg stump, which Azhar defends back to the bowler. He quickly taps the next one fine, sending it past the slip fielder for a well-judged couple.
Vidarbha finally strike, Azharuddeen is out LBW. Kerala lose their sixth wicket. It was a length delivery that kept a touch low, trapping the batsman on the pads. UltraEdge shows no bat involved, and replays confirm it was clipping the leg-stump. The impact was in line, and it was a marginal call on hitting. Kerala won’t lose a review, as it라이브 바카라 umpire라이브 바카라 call.
Azharuddeen walks off after a solid knock, scoring 34 off 59 balls, with 3 fours.
Jalaj Saxena comes to the crease.
KER 278/6 (94.1)
Harsh Dubey returns for another spell. Sachin shifts onto his back foot and drives the ball straight down the ground, picking up a single.
Kerala continue to build small partnerships, but none big enough to break free, as Vidarbha strikes with key wickets to keep them in check. The lead has now reached 100, but just before that, Azharuddeen falls LBW, becoming Nalkande라이브 바카라 third victim of the innings.
Now, Kerala's most experienced duo, Baby and Jalaj Saxena, are at the crease. How much longer can they hold out? With wickets dwindling, the pressure is mounting.
Kerala are making things dramatic. 81 runs can seem a long way off when you're six wickets down, but Sachin Baby, solid on a patient 82*, looks determined. He’ll want to see his team through to a lead.
Yash Thakur comes into the attack. He bowls full outside off to Sachin, who drives it confidently through the covers for a couple. Thakur follows up with a short delivery, and Sachin pulls it expertly in front of square for a boundary.
Thakur delivers a length ball, and Baby guides it to the off-side for no run. He then drives beautifully through the covers for a double, before pulling a short ball to the deep backward square leg fence for a four. Baby takes a single, and Saxena follows with another single. Thakur finishes the over with a dot ball.
OH NO! What a heartbreaking moment for Sachin Baby. Just shy of a century, the Kerala captain attempts a slog sweep to a delivery from Rekhade, but misfires. The ball sails straight to deep midwicket, where the fielder makes an easy catch. A crucial dismissal for Kerala as Baby, who was looking set for a big score, loses his wicket and misses out on a well-earned ton.
KER 327/7 (109.2)
Only one run came off this over as Jalaj Saxena (26*) and Tom (5*) work to rebuild for Kerala following the dismissal of Sachin Baby. Kerala now lead by 45 runs and must focus on extending their lead without losing all their wickets.
If they manage that, Vidarbha will be forced to play aggressively in their chase, setting up a thrilling encounter. The match is finely poised, and the tension is palpable.
Parth Rekhade strikes again, and it's a big blow for Kerala. Jalaj Saxena, who had been looking solid, loses his wicket in dramatic fashion. After the break, Saxena seems to lose his focus. He was playing straight, but suddenly opts to paddle one away, only to see it turn away from him.
Rekhade cleverly holds it back, and the ball curves past Saxena's closed bat-face, rattling the off-stump. Kerala now finds themselves 42 runs behind, with their tail exposed. Saxena departs for 28 off 76 balls, with three boundaries to his name.
KER 337/8 (118.3)
Rekhade sends one curving past the batter, crashing into the off stump. Saxena has to walk back, a huge blow to Kerala! They now trail by 42 runs. He attempted a paddle, but the ball turned and did him in.
Kerala have been bowled out! Vidarbha are inching closer to the title as Rekhade delivers a flat ball, and Tom can only watch in frustration as he misses completely, the ball crashing into the off stump.
Stumps are called with the end of the Kerala innings. The tourists are unable to get third-time lucky in sneaking in a first-innings lead, as Vidarbha dismiss them for 342 runs, 37 runs short of their 379-run total earlier. The hosts hold all the cards from here on, though with two full days to go, any result is still possible. An exciting ride ahead!
