Karnataka led the table with four wins in four matches, but on the final day of 2024, they lost to Hyderabad by three wickets in a final-over thriller. The result also meant that Mayank Agarwal & Co. lost the top spot to Punjab, who defeated Saurashtra by 57 runs in another high-scoring match.
Mumbai also gained a place in the table thanks to their 189-run win over Nagaland. Powered by 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre's record-breaking knock, the four-time champions posted 403/7 then restricted Nagaland to 214/9 to boost their NRR.
Puducherry, the surprised package in the group, also registered a massive win, by 191 runs, over Arunachal Pradesh to stay in the mix.

38 teams in India's premier List A competition have been divided into five groups, of eight teams (A, B and C), and seven teams (D and E) each.
After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knock-outs with the top five group winners automatically qualifying for the quarter-finals.
They will be joined by the best team among the second-ranked teams in the last eight. The other four second-ranked teams will play in the pre-quarterfinals with the winners completing the quarter-final line-up.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 group stage matches will not be telecast on TV or streamed online. The knockout matches, however, will be streamed live and telecast on JioCinema and Sports18 channels, respectively.
The knockouts will begin on January 9, 2025, with preliminary quarter-finals. The final is scheduled for January 19. All knockout matches will be played in Vadodara
