West Indies were too good for the visitors in the first Test as they defeated Bangladesh by 206 runs in the opening match. Bangladesh's batting had been ordinary in the first Test and was the major reason behind their crushing defeat. The bowlers did well especially in the second innings.
West Indies had put up 450/9 in the first innings with Mikyle Louis and Alick Athanaze scoring 90s and Justin Greaves raising a century. Bangladesh took a bold decision to declare their first innings at 269/9 in the hope of using good bowling conditions in their favour to bowl out West Indies. They even managed to do that to bowl out West Indies for 152 with Taskin Ahmed taking six wickets. Chasing 334, Bangladesh were bundled up for just 132.
After the second Test, the two teams will play three T20Is and the same number of ODIs.
