The toss was delayed and took place after a couple of hours. Ireland won the toss and opted to field first against Zimbabwe in Harare.

Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe Captain): The wicket looks good, wasn't too concerned about batting or bowling. The beauty of these short games is things happen quickly and fast, so you have to boss all three departments. We take every T20 very seriously, we are doing everything with a vision towards the qualifying tournament of the T20 World Cup in September.

The game has been called off with nine overs bowled, and Zimbabwe batting at 77 for the loss of five wickets.

The match was 11 overs per side with the late start because of rain. The first powerplay was three overs each bowler was permitted to bowl two overs while one bowler was permitted to bowl three overs.
