This is how the La Liga 2024-25 points table looks like before the match:
FC Barcelona are at the top, four points ahead of Real Madrid with both playing 32 points. A win today can take the Blaugranas seven points clear at the top, with just four games left to play after this.
Meanwhile, Mallorca have something to play for too. They are currently seventh with 44 points, occupying the Conference League spot. They are seven points behind Europa League contender Real Betis, but a win tonight will very much secure European football next season at the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium.

Considering boths teams have a lot to lose tonight, neither teams are going gung-ho in the opening stages. There have been chances, though, with Mallorca getting the first go at goal. The visitors counter after Barcelona's corner kick, and Antonio Sanchez's shot is saved by Szczesny.
Yamal gets his first attempt in the ninth minute, trying to curl one in but it never dips. The youngster comes close again, but this time also the ball flies over the post.

Wow, a fantastic double save from Leo Roman! Ferran Torres finds a bit of space on the opponent's penalty box, and hits a sweet shot that the Mallorca keeper can only parry. It falls to Lamine Yamal who takes another crack at goal, but Roman gets up and keeps it out again.

Mallorca are certainly in this game with a winning mentality. Sanchez gets another chance at going forward, but the forward fails to find any yellow shirts with his cross, and Szczesny keeps it away from goal.

A terrific outside of the boot pass from Lamine Yamal finds Dani Olmo, who beats his marker and shoots the ball first time, but Roman comes out on top again, making himself big and keeping the ball out.

So Many Chances! The home side are wasting one chance after another at the moment. First, Hector Fort's cross is almost deflected past Roman by a Mallorca defender, but it falls to Gavi. The midfielder hits the ball hard, and it ricochets off the post.
The chance is is even better, as Roman saves an effort from distance by Lamine Yamal. The goalkeeper, however, parries it only as far as Araujo, and the Barca skipper, facing an empty net from six yards out, puts it wide. It was almost harder to miss than score from there.

A couple of half-chances for the home side, with Ferran Torres shooting over the bar after crafting a chance with a solo run from the midfield. Ansu Fati -- starting only his second game of the season -- also gets a crack at goal after Samu makes an error, but the Barcelona youngster's shot from distance is high.
The Montjuic crowd loved it, though, and chants of "Fati" can be heard around the pitch. A fantastic moment for the one-time wunderkind.

FC Barcelona are pushing forward relentlessly, and chances are being crafted at regular intervals, but the final piece is still missing.
Lamine Yamal -- the most likely source of threat for Barcelona tonight -- floats the ball in from the right hand side, and Roman makes a save. Barca players keep coming, and the defence blocks two shots within seconds.
Fati gets another chance a few minutes later, as Pedri dazzles his way past the Mallorca defence and passes the ball to Fati, but the forward cannot catch the ball properly and it goes wide.

There have been few stoppages to the game, and the fourth-official does not add any added time to the match. The referee blows his whistle, and it's goalless at the break tonight.
Former Barcelona youth player Mateu Morey thought he gave the visitors a late lead, but he is clearly offside while receiving the ball from Sergi Darder, and the goal is overruled.

It was a long time coming, this goal. Just 41 seconds after the restart, and Barcelona are ahead. Eric Garcia finds Olmo in the box, and the midfielder shoots towards the far corner to give Roman -- who has been unbeatable so far -- no chance.
This is Olmo's first goal for Barcelona.

Barcelona are piling the pressure now, and it's Ansu Fati again from the distance. However, Roman goes down to his left side quickly and keept the shot out.

Mallorca get a decent chance completely against the run of play. Mojica floats in a fantastic free-kick, and Antonio Raillo tries to get a good contact with his head, but the ball goes wide.

What a glorious opportunity, and what a fantastic save to match it! Lamine Yamal expert beat the Mallorca offside trap and found himself alone in the final third with only Leo Roman in front of him. He tries a bit of footwork and tries to finish it, but Roman stands tall and keeps it out, and then rushes towards the touchline to push the ball for a throw.
Will Barcelona come to regret this miss later?
