East Bengal went down to FC Arkadag of Turkmenistan in the first leg of their AFC Challenge League quarterfinal match in Kolkata on Wednesday. Yazgylvc Gurbanow found the net early in the game to give the visiting side the lead in just the 10th minute. FC Arkadan managed to retain the lead for the entire game and will thus go to the home leg with a one-goal advantage. The second leg match takes place March 12.
