FA Women's Cup 2024-25 Semi-Final: Chelsea Beat Liverpool 2-1 In Thriller To Reach Final

Chelsea narrowly defeated Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday at Kingsmeadow in a fiercely competitive match that showcased two distinct styles of play. From the outset, Liverpool demonstrated why they reached the semifinals without conceding a goal. Their disciplined defence was tenacious and unyielding, complemented by unexpected, dangerous attacks that left the Chelsea supporters feeling anxious. Despite Chelsea's early pressure, Liverpool's strategic counterattacks proved effective. They leveraged the speed and strength available on their right flank to score in the 21st minute. An excellent weighted pass from Marie Hobinger set up Olivia Smith for a precise shot across the goal into the far corner of the net.
