India senior women's football team got their Pink Ladies Cup campaign up and running with a 2-0 routine win over Jordan

Midfielder Naorem Priyangka Devi (23’) and winger Manisha (54’) scored for the Blue Tigresses, to give India their first win with Crispin Chettri as the head coach.
The Crispin Chettri-managed side started off on a cautious note, as Priyangka started off with much of her side's intent from the left flank with Manisha playing through the middle against Jordan. However, the opposition forward Roukayah Al Fararjeh produced the first real opportunity as she was played through on goal only for India goalie Shreya Hooda to parry it away.
However, India made Jordan pay as Naorem Priyangka Devi scored in the 23rd minute as Jordan goalie misjudged the bounce of the ball and bundled it on goal.
India continued its attacking endeavour for the rest of the half but failed to take advantage of the chances to increase its lead.
The second-half saw Jordan come out all guns blazing against India but the Blue Tigresses defended valiantly, marshalled by captain Ngangbam Sweety Devi and youngster Purnima Kumari.
India looked brilliant on the counter as Manisha, who was through on goal but scurried into the opposition box before whipping in a low cross.
However, India doubled their lead as Manisha was played through on the left by Sandhiya. The forward sped past her marker and produced a deceptive shot with her left toe that whistled past the keeper at the near post.
The Indian team will face Russia in their next match of the Pink Ladies Cup 2025 on Sunday.
