Liverpool 2-0 Real Madrid, UEFA Champions League 2024-25: Reds Ends 15-Year Los Blancos Jinx, Qualify For Knock-Outs
Liverpool's dream in the revamped UEFA Champions League 2024-25 continued with a historic 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield early Thursday (November 28, 2024) morning India time. Second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo sealed the win for the English Premier League leaders even as Mohamed Salah for Liverpool and Kylian Mbappe for Real Madrid missed penalties. The result ended Red's 15-year winless streak against the Spanish giants. Arne Slot's Liverpool have won five in five and became the first team to qualify for the round of 16. After five rounds, Real Madrid are 24th.
