The 26th staging of the tournament, comprising eight Gulf nations, kicks off in Kuwait on Saturday
The 26th Arabian Cup got underway on Saturday, December 21 in Kuwait with the 10-time champions being firm favourites to win for the 11th time. The tourney is organized by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation and also includes the likes of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen. (More Football News)
The tournament started off from December 21 and will conclude on January 3.
The matches will be played at two venues - Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium (capacity: 60,000) in the Ardhiya area of the city, and the Sulaibikhat Stadium (capacity: 15,000) in Sulaibikhat.
The tournament has been divided into two groups - Group A and Group B. The Group A consists of UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. Group B comprises Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Yemen.
The tournament format sees the top-two advancing to the semis on December 31 with the final on January 3.
