UEFA Champions League: Castello Lukeba's Own Goal Gives Inter Milan Edge Over RB Leipzig
Inter Milan secured their fourth consecutive Champions League victory with a narrow win over the winless RB Leipzig. The Nerazzurri took the lead in the 27th minute when Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba inadvertently scored an own goal from a free-kick delivered by Federico Dimarco. Captain Lautaro Martinez nearly added a second goal, but after a scramble in the box, Leipzig was able to clear the danger. Making his return to the starting lineup, Hakan Calhanoglu attempted a long-range shot, but Leipzig's goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi made a solid save to deny the powerful strike. Dimarco delivered an excellent cross that was headed by Marcus Thuram, but the France international couldn't direct his header on target from close range. In the closing moments of the match at San Siro, Leipzig increased their attacking efforts, but they were unable to penetrate a resolute Inter defence. With this win, Inter has moved to the top of the Champions League table, collecting 13 points from a possible 15, while Leipzig remains at the bottom in 33rd place.
