Barcelona's Dani Olmo celebrates his side's fourth goal during a Champions League phase soccer matchday 5 between Barcelona and Brest at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain.
Robert Lewandowski became the third player in history to score 100 goals in the Champions League as Barcelona secured a dominant victory over Brest. Only Cristiano Ronaldo, with 141 goals, and Lionel Messi, with 129 goals, have scored more than the 36-year-old Polish striker in Europe's elite competition. Lewandowski's milestone 100th goal came from a penalty in the 10th minute, awarded after Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot collided with him. Dani Olmo also made an impact by scoring his first Champions League goal for Barcelona, giving the team a 2-0 lead. He took a superb first touch to evade Brendan Chardonnet before sliding the ball under Bizot. Lewandowski capped off an impressive performance by netting his second goal of the night—and his 101st in the competition—by calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner after executing a brilliant spin in the box. Throughout the match, Barcelona dominated possession with 77%, limiting Brest to no shots on target.
