Mexico beat Internacional 2-0 in their first match of the South American tour with a brilliant performance. El Tri displayed immense character after a subpar first 30 minutes where they looked lost. However, the last 15 minutes of the first half saw them turn it around, gaining quite a bit of momentum. Goals from Erik Lira and Jorge Ruvalcaba sealed the deal for Mexico.
