Argentine Grand Prix MotoGP: Marquez Brothers Land Another 1-2 Finish - Key Talking Points

Spaniard Alex Marquez led for most of the Argentine Grand Prix on Monday (March 17 as per India time) before he settled for second place behind older brother Marc as Johann Zarco, Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta all banked top-10 places in the second stop of the 2025 MotoGP season. Here are the key talking points from the race:

- Marquez finished second behind Marc at the season opener in Thailand and he put on another show for the fans when he finished second in qualifying around the Termas track with Frenchman Zarco starting third on the grid, Spaniard Acosta fifth and South African Binder 11th.

- It was the same Marquez 1-2 in the crucial sprint Race with Zarco fourth and Acosta ninth as the Red Bull KTM of Binder and Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira both failed to finish on the day.

- Sunday's race saw Marc make an error on lap four which saw him drop out of the lead and Alex take control for the majority of the race, however Marc got past him on lap 21 of the 25 before closing out the win.

- Sitting 16 points behind Marc now overall, Alex, 28, said: "So happy. When Marc went a little wide on Turn One, I could lead. I was trying to control the gap with the second group. I gave my everything and Marc overtook me. We were closer than ever here."

- Elsewhere, Zarco finished up in an impressive sixth place with Binder just behind in seventh, Acosta ninth for Red Bull KTM, Spaniard Maverick Vinales 13th for Red Bull KTM Tech3 and Italian teammate Enea Bastianini 18th as Thai rider Somkiat Chantra ended the day in 19th.
