A Formula One Qualifying takes place a day prior to Main Race and is split into three stages – Q1, Q2 and Q3 – which last 18 minutes, 15 minutes and 12 minutes respectively.

The lights go green, and Q1 is officially a go. The 2025 F1 season is officially underway with the Australian GP. Sebastian Ocon leads the way out, ahead of his team mate.
An 'uh-oh' moment for Haas F1 driver Ollie Bearman, who quickly calls in to report that there's an issue with his gearbox. "I have a problem with the gearbox," radios Bearman.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris lead the charge at the start but its Max Verstappen up to P2 in the early stages.
Pierre Gasly, Nico Hulkenberg, Liam Lawson and Sebastian Ocon are all in the drop zone along with Ollie Bearman, who remains in the pits.

Q2 starts off as drivers start off their engines. HERE WE GO!!!
Reigning WC Max Verstappen goes top by setting the first lap time of the segment - a 1m 15.688s.
The rest of the drivers to join the danger zone are - Hadjar, Stroll and Bortoleto.
Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc with the latter up in fifth, Hamilton sixth. Both the drivers have used fresh tyres for Q2.

Yellow flag is out and it seems for Lewis Hamilton. The British driver has some problems with his car and it has stopped. Not a good debut for the former world champion.
Gabriel Bortoleto does a superb save, but it won't improve things as this will be the end of his participation. He will be no better than 13th.

"It was good, yesterday was quite tough so for us to be P3 today, I'd take that. Quali laps are exciting, good grip around here and some fast corners.

Signs are not good for the weather tomorrow at Albert Park. The rain clouds are inbound, with the chance of rain across the afternoon sitting at 80%. As per F1 site, it could be heavy downpour with some thundering which could bring in the possibility of Safety Cars and red flags into play.
