The operation is a response to the terror attack in Pahalgam last month, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.
Following the news and the circulation of videos on social media, sports personalities across the country have been expressing their support for the midnight launch of Operation Sindoor. Many athletes have voiced their patriotic backing for the operation.
Gautam Gambhir shared his support on X, posting a message: "Jai Hind".
Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Ravi Dahiya posted on Instagram.
CWG medallist, wrestler Deepak Punia urged people to follow defence drills, sharing a list of the nine targets hit on Instagram.
Many other athletes too posted on their Instagram stories, tweeted in support of the Indian Armed Forces.
Taking to his official handle, Virender Sehwag hailed the Indian Army with a powerful slogan, posting.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra, also posted, "Together we stand. Jai Hind."
The Indian Army on Wednesday destroyed nine terror hideouts belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor'.
The Ministry of Defence in a statement, said, altogether, nine sites were targeted. The Ministry further added that its actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature.
The Ministry informed that no Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. It added, India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.
A press release issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) at 1:44 a.m. provided details about Operation Sindoor, launched just days after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which the suspects are believed to have links to Pakistan.
In response to the cross-border connections to the Pahalgam attack, India took a series of retaliatory actions against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), halting visa issuance, and closing the Wagah-Attari border, among other measures.
According to reports, Operation Sindoor marks India라이브 바카라 deepest strikes inside Pakistan라이브 바카라 territory since 1971. The operation resulted in the destruction of nine terror hideouts belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
