Here is your ready reckoner for Ronde van Vlaanderen, the marquee cycling race which will be held across Flanders, Belgium on April 6
The Belgian road cycling classics season continues with the coveted Tour of Flanders coming up on April 6. The event, second in the cycling calendar of five prestigious one-day races known as 'Monuments', is set to feature the best of the best in action. (More Sports News)
Also known as the Ronde van Vlaanderen, the Tour of Flanders will feature a pair of races – one for men, and one for women. The men's race will begin at 1:30pm India time and end around 7:45pm.
The opening Monument of the season, Milan-San Remo in Italy, was won by Mathieu van der Poel, who warded off a rampant Tadej Pogacar for victory. In the lead-up to the Tour of Flanders, Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen won Gent-Wevelgem at the end of a 55-kilometre solo burst, adding to his previous wins at the classic in 2020 and 2024.
Van der Poel is also the reigning champion at Flanders, having triumphed in 2024. Pogacar was the victor in the year prior.
The marquee race was held for the first time in 1913 and will be celebrating its 109th edition in 2025, while the women라이브 바카라 race was added in 2004. A unique aspect of the Tour of Flanders is that it라이브 바카라 the only one of the five Monuments that also is one of the Flanders Classics.
This year, the men's will feature 268.9 kilometers of racing, kicking off in the main market square in the center of Bruges, West Flanders, Belgium, and ending in Oudenaarde in East Flanders. The men will be challenged by seven cobblestone sectors and 16 climbs.
Lotto have pulled Arnaud De Lie out of the race after the Belgian sprinter was unable to find his best form this spring Classics season. The 23-year-old started 2025 well with a win at the Etoile des Besseges but has looked out of sorts in several one-day races this month.
"Arnaud De Lie unfortunately withdrew early from Gent-Wevelgem. He will take some time in the coming days for a reset and will therefore not participate in Dwars door Vlaanderen on Wednesday and the Tour of Flanders on Sunday," the team wrote on social media after Gent-Wevelgem.
