The Serb retired hurt after one set of his final-four clash with Alexander Zverev on Friday due to a hamstring problem he suffered during his epic battle with Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals.

This followed comments from John McEnroe, who commentated on the clash between Djokovic and Alcaraz, suggesting the injury was not genuine after the 37-year-old had taken an off-court medical time out, saying: "This isn't the first time we've seen this routine. Don't be fooled."
