UFC 314: Alexander Volkanovski Claims Featherweight Belt As US President Donald Trump Attends The Event
Alexander Volkanovski faced Diego Lopes early Sunday morning in his 10th consecutive championship fight. Despite a recent slump, having lost three of his last four matches, Volkanovski won by unanimous decision, with scores of 49-46 from two judges and 48-47 from the third. Now at 27-4, Volkanovski had previously defended his title four times before moving up a weight class and losing to Israel Adesanya in 2023. After reclaiming the featherweight title from Yair Rodriguez five months later, he faced consecutive losses before regaining the championship. US President Donald Trump, a fan of the sport, was in attendance, along with Shaquille O'Neal, Tulsi Gabbard, Marco Rubio, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter).
