Imagine wandering back into the odyssey, through the various seas, and over the mountains, trying to echo the impact of people that reverberated around the globe, but of those who are not with us right now. 

We lived the rags to riches with them, travelled far, far beyond what was told could be achieved, and also witnessed motivational stories that inspired many across the length and breadth of the planet. 

We've also seen these athletes at a certain point break other athletes' hearts to the absolute limit but also unconditionally love them outside of battle.

The sport, however, is and will always be bigger but it is the athletes who popularise the game, and are the ones who inspire a young kid to dare to dream.

The reality is that the sport does not owe them a thing, not that athletes ever approach it in that way - and as brutal as it is, that is the beauty of it.

And unfortunately 2024 saw some of the giants of the sporting globe passing away and here we look back at some of the notable names who passed away in the calendar year.

Let us go through the sporting lives of three who departed us

Franz Beckenbauer

Franz BeckenbaueKelvin Kiptumr was born in Munich, Germany and is widely regarded as the country라이브 바카라 greatest footballer. During his time at Bayern Munich, he transformed a highly innovative playing style.

He also captained West Germany to a memorable World Cup at home in 1947, and is one among the nine players to have won the FIFA World Cup, the European Champions Cup as well as the Ballon d’Or. 

Kelvin Kiptum

Kelvin Kiptum tragically passed away at the tender age of 24. He made a name for himself in the marathon scene in October 2024 after he ran a brilliant two hours and 35 second in Chicago, taking 34 seconds off Eliud Kipchoge라이브 바카라 previous world record.

The death of the 24-year-old left athletes around the world shocked after his call rolled over when he was driving in West Kenya. 

Anshuman Gaekwad

Former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad passed away at the age of 71 after a long battle with cancer. In a career that spanned over 12 years, he played 40 Tests and 15 ODIs scoring 2254 runs, registering two centuries and a classy 201 against Pakistan in 1983. 

For the unversed, 1983 World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev also handed monetary support for Gaekwad, alongside Sunil Gavaskar, Sandeep Patil, Dilip Vengarkar, Madan Lal, and Ravi Shastri raising funds. 

The arenas they played in may grow cold without their competitive fire, and the strings may stay silent and the void created by the passing of these legends may never be filled.

But their legacy will continue to echo through the annals of sporting history for generations to come.
