Kesari 2 Teaser: Akshay Kumar plays lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who challenged the British Empire to expose the truth behind the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh teaser was unveiled today, March 24. The historical drama revolves around the story of lawyer and statesman, C Sankaran Nair, who challenged the Britishers to expose the truth behind the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Kesari 2 teaser begins with 30 seconds of audio warning: “These visuals are too horrific to display'' followed by a voiceover that says how the British Army opened fire on an unarmed crowd. It also narrates how people tried to escape and were shot while climbing the walls, and some chose to end their lives by jumping into the well. The voiceover also says that this was just 30 seconds of the massacre that originally lasted for 10 minutes.
The scene then shifts to Akshay Kumar, who is seen praying and then in the next scene he is seen in the get-up of a lawyer. A British official is seen warning him as he says, “Nobody has won against the British Empire. Don’t forget that you’re still a slave to the British Empire'' to which Akshay Kumar's C Sankaran Nair says, “F*ck you."
R Madhavan and Ananya Panday also star in the film, but they don't appear in the teaser.
Sharing the teaser of Kesari 2 on social media, Akshay wrote, ''He held his head high. He beat them at their game. He told them where to go. A genocide India must know about. A revolution painted in courage. #KesariChapter2 teaser out now! In cinemas 18th April, worldwide(sic)''.
Kesari 2 is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, and is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
Kesari Chapter 2 is all set to hit the theatres on April 18, 2025.
