Cannes 2025: Dates, Jury, Where To Watch- All You Need To Know About The Film Festival

Just a few more hours left for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Often referred as 'the global Colosseum of film,' every year, filmmakers across the globe gather to showcase their best works in the field of cinema. This year there is an exciting line-up of films, with star-studded filmmakers, actors, and movie enthusiasts gracing the prestigious film festival. Here's everything you need to know about streaming the event.

Date and Venue of Cannes 2025

The Cannes Film Festival 2025 is scheduled to take place from May 13 to May 24 in Cannes, France. Palais des Festivals et des Congrès is the main venue of the event.

Legendary star Robert De Niro will be conferred with the prestigious Palme d’Or d’Honneur for lifetime achievement at the opening ceremony of Cannes 2025. Nicole Kidman will receive the Women in Motion Award on May 18, 2025.

The culmination of the festival will be on May 24, which is the closing ceremony. The prestigious Palme d’Or winner will be announced on that day.

Where to watch Cannes 2025

You can watch the Palme d’or d’honneur presentation at the opening ceremony on Tuesday, May 13, at 7:15 PM (around 10:45 PM IST)

India at Cannes 2025

The main highlight from India is filmmaker Payal Kapadia returning to the Cannes Film Festival as part of the jury. Her debut feature film All We Imagine As Light visionary scripted history by winning the Grand Prix win at the 2024 edition of the festival.

Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan라이브 바카라 feature film, Homebound, starring Ishan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor, will be featured in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section. The leading actors, will reportedly attend the movie premiere.

Indira Baikerika라이브 바카라 directorial The Second Wind is all set to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 

Satyajit Ray라이브 바카라 1970 film Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest in English) will be screened in 4K resolution. She will be accompanied by her co-star Simi Garewal. American director Wes Anderson, will honour the Indian legend. Purnima Dutta, the wife of film producer Asim Dutta, a longtime collaborator of Ray, and Sharmila Tagore, who starred in the classic, will attend the screening.

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) production, A Doll Made Up of Clay, will also be presented at Cannes 2025. It has been directed by SRFTI student Kokob Gebrehaweria Tesfay.

Anupam Kher라이브 바카라 second directorial, Tanvi The Great, will also be screened at Cannes moment in the Marche du Film segment.

Apart from films screenings, Cannes is also a fashionable event. Actress Alia Bhatt is making her Cannes red carpet debut appearance as a L’Oreal Paris global brand ambassador. Cannes regular and L’Oreal brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also grace the red carpet.

Cannes 2025 jury

This year, French actor Juliette Binoche will serve as the jury president, which marks a second time in Cannes history that the jury will be headed by a woman for two consecutive years. The last jury president was Barbie director, Greta Gerwig.
