Actor Jay North, known for his TV show Dennis the Menace, passed away at 73 after battling colon cancer.
Actor Jay North, best known for his role as Dennis Mitchell in popular TV show Dennis the Menace, breathed his last at his home in Lake Butler, Florida, after a prolonged battle with colon cancer, as per a report in Associated Press. He was 73. North's demise was confirmed by his longtime friend Laurie Jacobson and booking agent Bonnie Vent.
Jacobson shared a heartfelt note on Facebook, that read: “Our dear friend JAY NORTH has been fighting cancer for a number of years and this morning at noon EST, Jay passed peacefully at home. As many of his fans know, he had a difficult journey in Hollywood and after...but he did not let it define his life.''
She added, ''He had a heart as big as a mountain, loved his friends deeply. He called us frequently and ended every conversation with "I love you with all my heart." And we loved him with all of ours. A life-long friend of Jon's, a brother to Jeanne and a dear friend to me, we will miss him terribly. He is out of pain now. His suffering is over. At last he is at peace.''

Born August 3, 1951, Jay North started his acting career at a very young age. He started working as a child model and actor in commercials. His first acting stint was on the gameshow Queen for a Day. North worked in several NBC variety shows in the 1950s, such as The George Gobel Show, The Eddie Fisher Show, and The Milton Berle Show, before he landed the main character in CBS라이브 바카라 Dennis the Menace. It was an adaptation of Hank Ketcham라이브 바카라 comic strip of the same name. The show was aired from1959 to 1963 and ran for 146 episodes over four seasons.
The mischievous and trouble-causing Dennis became everyone's favourite and was loved by the audiences worldwide.
After being successful as a child artiste, he did significant roles in shows including The Man from U.N.C.L.E., My Three Sons, Jericho, The Simpsons, and The Lucy Show, among others. He also gave his voices of Prince Turhan in the Arabian Knights segment of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, Terry Dexter in Here Comes the Grump, and Bamm-Bamm Rubble on The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show.
He also appeared in films such as Zebra in the Kitchen, Maya, Divlji Vetar (Wild Wind), and The Teacher, among others. His last appearance, as per IMDb, was in the 2003 documentary film Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.
Jay North is survived by his third wife, Cindy, and three stepdaughters.
