Hollywood star Val Kilmer, best known for his roles in films such as Batman Forever and Top Gun, breathed his last on Tuesday, April 1, in Los Angeles, reported the New York Times. He was 65 at the time of death.

Val's daughter Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed the news to the publication. The cause of of the actor's demise was pneumonia, she said.
He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered, said his daughter.
A documentary about Val's life was premiered at Cannes in July 2021. It won several awards, including a Critics Choice Award for best historical or biographical documentary.
Kilmer, who started out as a stage actor, made his Broadway debut in The Slab Boys (1983), co-starring with Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon. He also played Hamlet at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder in 1988, and starred as the male lead, Giovanni, opposite Jeanne Tripplehorn in Jacobean tragedy ’Tis Pity She라이브 바카라 a Whore (1992).
Kilmer made his feature debut with Top Secret! (1984), where he played American singer in Berlin, followed by his performance as Iceman in the box office hit Top Gun (1986).
In the 90s, he starred in several projects such as The Doors (1991), where he played Jim Morrison. He also played two more American legends, Elvis Presley in True Romance (1993) and Doc Holliday in Tombstone (1993). Kilmer also starred in Thunderheart (1992), and The Saint (1997).
In 1995, he landed the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Forever.
The film made Val Kilmer a huge star, and was a box office hit.

He did his education from Juilliard School in New York and at 17 he got admitted to the acting program there.
In 2012, Val received a Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word for an audio production of Zorro. In 2020, his memoir, titled I’m Your Huckleberry was published.
Val Kilmer is survived by his two children- Mercedes and Jack.
