Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari Chapter 2 trailer has been unveiled today, April 3. The historical drama revolves around the story of lawyer and statesman, C Sankaran Nair, who challenged the British Empire to expose the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, that took place on April 13, 1919.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, Kesari 2 also stars Ananya Panday and R Madhavan in key roles. The film is releasing on April 18, 2025.
The trailer shows the legal battle as Akshay Kumar's C Sankaran Nair confronts British officer, Colonel Reginald Dyer, responsible for the horrid massacre that claimed several lives in 1919.
It also introduces young female barrister Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill, while R Madhavan plays the 'genius' Neville McKinley, who defends the Britishers.
Sharing Kesari 2 trailer on his Instagram handle, Akshay Kumar wrote, ''This is a wound. This is a roar. This… is #KesariChapter2! Trailer out now. In cinemas 18th April, worldwide(sic)''.

The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Nair was the former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy's Executive Council.
Kesari 2, which was earlier scheduled for release on March 14, 2025, will now hit the theatres on April 18, 2025. It is backed by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, and is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The screenplay is written by Tyagi and Amritpal Singh Bindra.
Kesari, which starred Akshay Kumar, released in 2019. It revolved around the events, that led to the Battle of Saragarhi, where Havildar Ishar Singh, a soldier in the British Indian Army's 36th Sikh Regiment, led 21 Sikh soldiers to fight against 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.
