The makers of Criminal Justice released a teaser of the upcoming season, with Pankaj Tripathi reprising his role as lawyer Madhav Mishra.
The fourth season of Criminal Justice is titled A Family Matter and is directed by Rohan Sippy. The thriller legal drama has been produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios.
Pankaj Tripathi has returned with his character of lawyer Madhav Mishra, who will now have a new case revolving around "a torrid love affair and an unforeseen murder", as per the series' official plotline.
"Criminal Justice feels like homecoming to me,'' said Tripathi in a statement. ''Every time I return as Madhav Mishra, it's like reuniting with an old friend who still has something new to teach me. There's an honesty and warmth to him that audiences have held onto through every season. That love is deeply humbling. Madhav isn't just a character I play—he's someone I carry with me. And with each chapter, that bond only grows stronger," he added.
On Tuesday (April 29), JioHotstar shared the teaser video with a caption that read: ''Seedha aur simple toh Madhav Mishra ji ke syllabus mein hai hi nahi. Aapke favourite vakeel sahab aa rahe hain courtroom mein wapas! (sic)''.

Rohan Sippy called it “an absolute delight” to collaborate with Pankaj Tripathi again. He feels Pankaj has made Madhav Mishra an unforgettable character.

Alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Criminal Justice Season 4 cast includes Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Asha Negi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Mita Vashisht, Khushboo Atre, and Barkha Singh.
