It had a phenomenal start at the box office. With Good Bad Ugly, Ajith delivers biggest Tamil opener of 2025. It surpassed the opening day collections of his previous movies, Vidaamuyarchi and Thunivu.
However, Good Bad Ugly failed to beat Ajith's own film, Valimai, which made Rs 31 crore at the domestic market on Day 1.
As per a report in Sacnilk, Good Bad Ugly box office collection is Rs 28.50 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in India on the first day of its release. Vidaamuyarchi, which was released in February this year, earned Rs 26 crore in India, while Thunivu minted Rs 24.4 crore nett on Day 1.
Good Bad Ugly had an overall 79.47% Tamil occupancy on Thursday. Night shows witnessed highest footfall of 88.81%, while morning shows had the lowest occupancy of 73.14%.
The Ajith-starrer has received positive reviews from critics and audiences. The extended weekend on Monday (Tamil New Year), is likely to work in favour of the film and it is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the opening weekend.
Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly released in theatres on April 10, in five regional languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Netizens were all praise for Ajith's 'mass entry', the music, action sequences, screenplay and dialogues.
Apart from Ajith, the film also stars Trisha Krishnan, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, Priya Prakash Varrier, Prabhu, Prasanna, Yogi Babu, Raghu Ram, Sayaji Shinde, Tinnu Anand, Redin Kingsley, Rahul Dev, and Shine Tom Chacko in significant roles.
