Thala Ajith and Trisha Krishnan starrer Vidaamuyarchi hit the theatres across the globe today, February 6. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi is Ajith's comeback after his 2023 film Thunivu. Vidaamuyarchi has opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. However, fans of Ajith are rejoicing his comeback and hailed him for his performance.

Vidaamuyarchi follows story of Arjun (Ajith Kumar) and Kayal (Trisha) who go on a last trip together as they go through divorce proceedings 12 years after their wedding. During the trip, their car breaks down in a isolated place in Azerbaijan.
They meet truck drivers Deepika (Regina Cassandra) and Rakshith ( Arjun Sarja), who offer a ride to Kayal to a nearby cafe. Arjun stays back to fix a minor car inconvenience, but later when he reaches the cafe, he finds Kayal missing. Arjun then searches for his missing wife and it forms the rest of the story.
Vidaamuyarchi, which is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, is expected to have a grand box office opening of Rs 40 crore. According to Sacnilk, the film has already collected Rs 8.86 crore in advance bookings by selling about 4-8 lakh tickets for 5863 shows.
