"We will restore Canada라이브 바카라 promise in a country where it doesn’t matter who you love or if your name is Smith or Singh, Martin or Mohammed, Chang or Charles; a country where the dreamer, the farmer, the worker, the entrepreneur, the survivor, the fighter, and the ones who get knocked down but keep getting back up and keep going can achieve their purpose; a country where the son of a teenage mother adopted by two teachers can dare to run for prime minister of Canada." — Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada

In September 2022, the quote, delivered by Pierre Poilievre during his Conservative Party leadership victory speech, was reiterated in the 2025 election campaign, emphasising inclusiveness, resilience, and the Canadian dream.

Poilievre is known for his populist and confrontational style, often compared to Donald Trump, and advocates free-market policies, limited government, and low taxes.

A Future in Politics

Born on June 3, 1979, in Calgary, Alberta, Poilievre developed an interest in politics at an early age, influenced by his adoptive parents and conservative views.

Pierre studied international relations at the University of Calgary and was involved in political activism, including writing a paper on libertarianism and attending Reform Party events.

Poilievre's Political Journey

At age 25, Poilievre was elected as the Member of Parliament for Ottawa in the 2004 federal election, representing the Conservative Party of Canada.

He has been re-elected in every election since 2006, 2008, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2021.

Poliievre was appointed Minister of State for Democratic Reform in 2013, where he spearheaded the controversial Fair Elections Act.

In 2015, he also served as Minister of Employment and Social Development, focusing on labour and housing policies.

After the Conservatives lost the 2015 election, Poilievre became a prominent opposition critic.

Poilievre won the Conservative Party leadership election on September 10, 2022, with 68 per cent of the vote on the first ballot, defeating rivals like Jean Charest. His campaign focused on "freedom", economic populism, and criticism of government.

Conservative Party's Path to Power

On March 19, 2025, during the Canada election campaign in Sudbury, Ontario, Poilievre stated that We need a strong, tough leader who will unleash our resources, cut taxes and red tape, build homes and make our economy less reliant on the Americans to put Canada first," as quoted by Al Jazeera.

During a public debate in Canada in recent months on immigration, he said it would tie levels of newcomers to the number of new homes built and focus on bringing in skilled workers.

Meanwhile, if Poilievre's Conservative Party secures the most seats and forms the government, either a majority with 172+ seats or a minority, he would become Canada's next Prime Minister.
