Hamdan Ballal, a Palestinian director, was attacked and allegedly lynched by a mob of Israeli settlers in occupied West Bank on Monday. As per reports, the Oscar-winning director has been arrested by Israeli forces and has been missing since then.

Ballal's arrest came to light after fellow co-director Yuval Abraham and Basel Adra took to X to share that their co-director was attacked by armed settlers and handed over to the IDF.

As per the latest update from Ballal's fellow directors, the Palestinian director was "handcuffed and blindfolded all night in an army base while two soldiers beat him up on the floor".

Yuval Abraham took to X to share that Hamdan's lawyer managed to speak with him. The Oscar-winning director is being held in the Kiryat Arba police station.

Ballal Allegedly Lynched By Israeli Settlers

"A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal, co-director of our film No Other Land. They beat him and he has injuries in his head and stomach, bleeding,” Abraham said in a post on X.

Adra took to X and shared that "Hamdan, co-director of our film No Other Land, is still missing after soldiers abducted him, injured and bleeding. This is how they erase Masafer Yatta."

As per a video shared by the Center for Jewish Nonviolence showed a masked settler attacking Hamdan and the American activists present at his village.

The videos were shared by Yuval Abraham on X as well. While the activists managed to run, Hamdan was captured and handed over to the IDF.

The International Documentary Association has condemned the attack on Ballal.

"We demand Ballal라이브 바카라 immediate release and that his family and community be informed about his condition, location, and the justification for his detention," stated IDA.

"We don’t know where Hamdan is because he was taken away in a blindfold,” Josh Kimelman, one of the activists told The Associated Press.

The Israeli military has stated it is looking into the incident but has made no comment so far.

No Other Land won the Oscar for Best Documentary Film at the 97th Academy Awards earlier this month. The documentary is a collaboration between Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers and follows activist Basel Adra to document the destruction of his hometown, Masafer Yatta, at the hands of the Israeli Military.
