The statement came after he met with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni - adding that it is comparatively easier to reach a trade deal with the European Union (EU).
The two leaders met at the White House in Washington, D.C on Thursday, and discussed the larger trade deals, geopolitical relations and Italy-U.S. trade. Trump also accepted Meloni's invitation for an official visit to Rome in the near future, and said he will consider meeting representatives of the EU while there, Reuters reported.
