United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday met with Syria라이브 바카라 interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa, a day after lifting the sanctions on the nation. The meeting marks a first between leaders of both nations in the last 25 years.

The meeting was facilitated under the larger context of Trump라이브 바카라 get-together with the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). While lifting the sanctions, Trump asserted to normalise ties with Syria and shook hands with its interim president, as reported by Reuters.

According to reports, people across Syria cheered and launched fireworks upon hearing the news about the sanctions being lifted that were in place in 1979.

The meet is of special significance since al-Sharaa allegedly had ties with Al-Qaeda and even fought the US government by siding with the insurgents in Iraq. He was even imprisoned by the US military for several years in Iraq, as reported by AP.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier urged President Trump to refrain from lifting the sanctions on Syria during his visit to Washington. According to a white house spokesperson, Trump also asked Sharaa to normalise its ties with Israel, as reported by Reuters.

According to reports, the meeting was held for around 30 minutes in the presence of Saudi Arabia라이브 바카라 Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Prince Mohammed appreciated Trump's decision on lifting sanctions on Syria. “We commend the decision made yesterday by President Trump to lift the sanctions on the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic, which will alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people,” he asserted in a speech to the GCC.
